What does a BESS system consist of?
A battery energy storage system (BESS) combines several components: batteries and their management system (BMS), power conversion between direct and alternating current, electrical distribution and protection, monitoring, and often thermal management of the entire system. The value of an integrator lies in the safe and coherent assembly of these components: sizing of protection devices, controlled power wiring, continuity of grounding, and pre-commissioning testing. This is the electrotechnical expertise that SIMEF Industrie brings to storage projects.
